Movement
Movement often carries different connotations, some in a political sense, social sense, other times in a spatial sense. What we will touch upon is a social and artistic sense. There are countless eras of movements within the artistic realm some familiar examples are the renaissance, cubism, impressionism, deconstructionism, as well as a digital/new media movement. Each one bringing new definitions and directions to the world as we, the artist and audience, perceive it.
The act of moving comes in many forms some scientific, some emotional. Astrophysics and physics deals heavily with movement, gravitational force, distortion, and friction, which condenses the complexities of our environment into digestible terms. Meanwhile we have emotional movements and shifts within ourselves. Stages we go through from birth to adulthood, which can be defined as cognitive maturation as well as physical. Art and design has helped us understand, cope, and move forward through all those different stages of growth because as our mind frame shifts so does our taste and personal aesthetics (aesthetics is a completely different topic which will be covered later).
Personal aesthetics evolve with us individually, socially, and globally. Some are long lasting and stick within us for the rest of our lives and others are a simply short-lived 15 minutes of fame. What designers will provide the individual (at first) is a timeless design that can last for a lifetime. From a becoming of age young adult to the later stages of adulthood where one needs to be a professional, casual, as well as including the night life couture for any occasion.
